Of course, that is exactly what trump thinks he deserves here. And, betcha a good number of Americans think that is just fine with them.

Sad but whether Trump congratulates him or not makes no difference.

It is sad and the fact that he did call him to congratulate DOES make a difference. That is not the right kind of signal to be sending...

WH has confirmed the call.

The rest of the free world is freaking out about Erdogan's authoritarianism, and trump is congratulating the guy.

Well, he openly admits and says he likes "STRONG" leaders. Look at how he gushed over Putin and how he runs Russia.

The man is simply an idiot of the highest magnitude. What an embarrassment to America.

The $20 Trillion in debt, run up by establishment politicians of both parties, is a much greater embarrassment. So is our system of government, which by now exists only to buy re-election for those same establishment leaders, by promising the masses a bunch of stuff. As George Carlin said....when you have selfish ignorant citizens, you get selfish ignorant leaders. And term limits aren't going to do you any good, they are only going to replace one set of selfish leaders with another set.

You'd prefer a system where people can be thrown in jail because of the posts they like on facebook?

Just like he was praising the Egyptian dictator so much, while ignoring Angela Merkel. Trump loves dictators, as do his supporters.

I´m a Trump supporter and i didn´t like this. Erdogan is an enemy of the west. I don´t think Trump is doing as good to Christians as he should/could, talking **** with Erdogan about Bashar al-Assad who actually protects christian minorities in Syria unlike el-Sisi in Egypt for example who was also praised by Trump. I understand though that from a geopolitical point of view it is probably the best thing to do (about congratulating Erdogan). Not that it is his responsability but, will he defend Europe if Erdogan goes rough/crazy taking in consideration they are a member of NATO too? Because we know we cannot trust globalists to defend us.
