Let's face facts, no one really "likes" the thought of someone dying this way, but some people do not need to be on this planet. Unless you have had some horrible act (like the murder of someone close to you) you will have no perspective on how it feels. Just like that one case being discussed right now, where the guy killed his harmless 83 year old neighbor and burned his body, some people are just evil and need to be gone.
By trying to make it personal and invoke emotions you do the exact opposite on what is needed to make an informed, sound decision.
Plus you missed the point, it's about the rights of the individual.
The powers of the state have to be balanced against the rights of individuals and the rights of victims and their families, however the execution of innocent people can never be justified and levels of certainty as to guilt in such cases much be absolute and without any doubt.
Small government fans love them some big government executions...
