The Bases which were designated for closure under the Obama Administration will be the subject of a re-evalutation due to a more volatile security environment in Europe.

“Considering the current European security environment, it is a prudent measure to review some of the decisions under the January 2015 European Infrastructure Consolidation effort,” EUCOM said in a statement.
To retain any of these facilities, the command would need Pentagon backing and possibly require fresh negotiations with host nations where redevelopment planning has been initiated.
There are also plans for a new US Army Brigade in Germany with the US Army currently looking for a new bases in Northern Germany, whilst the US is also increasing it's forces in Eastern Europe, something which looks like becoming ever more permanent.
Shut them down. The US maintains 800 bases and 170 golf courses abroad. From what I gather from a quick online search the Russians maintain less than 25 bases abroad and no golf courses. Whose the real aggressor in the world? We like to think we are peaceful, but as BO showed, with his administration going to war with 3 additional nations more than Bush, a peace prize winning American is more dangerous to the world than a former KG official.
The world should be afraid of us, we create instability in the world.
I don't blame you........ we in England are sick of Europe also........ I am in total sympathy with Americans who want their armed forces to return home. But they never do so, do they? Doesn't seem to matter what the public want.
"security environment in Europe", not our problem.
Until it is our problem of course.
