What will the wall look like?
How will it get built?
When does construction begin?
Who will pay for it?
Trump's campaign rallies featured a trademark exchange between the candidate and crowd, with Trump asking who would pay for the wall and supporters shouting back in unison, "Mexico!"
That's easier chanted than done. The Mexican government has firmly objected to that plan, and Trump has for now turned to Congress for funding.
The government estimates the wall will cost about $21 billion.
This week, Trump submitted a proposal to cut domestic spending to pay for the first phase of wall construction. If approved, 2017 appropriations would set aside $999 million for wall planning, design, and construction. His 2018 budget proposal includes $2.6 billion more for that purpose.
Democrats have vowed to fight any effort to have U.S. taxpayers to foot the bill. And some Republicans are voicing concerns over the cost and its potential impact on other budget-related negotiations.
Where will construction start?

Agent Trump/AKA-President U-Turn supporters, sure got "a pig in a poke" with this bull-crapper!
The rest of us could smell the smoke he was blowing up their butts!

No one wants the stupid costly wall, most importantly GOP House and Senate members FROM border states. Even those GOP in favor of "wall" now say it won't BE A WALL...it will be more an issue of upgrading surveillance and other high tech improvements to what exists along the border now. AND the GOP wants to spend much le$$ money on it.

The wall will die a quiet death once President Bonkers is dealt a few blowbacks on it from Congress.

A tariff on imports from Mexico could pay for the wall. The trade deficit with Mexico is about $63 billion a year. I think trump mentioned a 35% tariff. That alone would cover the $21 billion cost. The rate will probably negotiated by down. Even if it were only 12%, it would cover the costs over three years of construction.

A tariff would be reflected in consumer prices, meaning the people would pay for the wall, TWICE: once when our tax dollars build it, and again at the checkout. Brilliant!

GOP Congress will not start a trade war with anyone because it is bad policy and will hurt Americans.

President Bonkers made a LOT of promises that WILL NEVER BE KEPT.

Now that he's discovered how big and tough dropping bombs makes him feel, he can be distracted from his campaign promises more easily.

No different than the way the government pays for everything else. They debit the Treasury, then reimburse the Trreasury. It's not two payments.

Sorry to break the news to you, but the trade war started long ago and we are losing.
