So if Anderson Cooper of Don Lemon got fired from CNN for something controversial like sexual harrassment, Fox News wouldn't have a field day with it?!

I don't think they would do it to this level that O'Reilly is getting.
O'Reilly has been crushing Cooper and Lemon in the cable rating for years... decades for Cooper. That's also part of why CNN is happy about this. Why would Fox give a bunch of press to someone beneath them ratings wise?
Juanita Broadrrick subsequently signed an affidavit under oath, attesting that did not happen. How convenient for you to omit that fact.
Donald Trump is one of the biggest sexual harassing celebrities in the country, so please disembark from your very high horse regarding the "left." The "right" was willing to elect him as president, so they obviously don't care about those types of transgressions.
We can also post a very long list of those on the "right" who have harassed those of the opposite and of the same sex. Sexual obnoxiousness pretty much crosses party lines.
To remind you--the Murdochs fired O'Reilly and Ailes. The Murdochs are hardly the "left."

Wow. What a SHOCKER. My company would have fired me yesterday as opposed to paying everyone under the table.
Plus, it makes it HARDER when you are presenting yourself as the 'great moral authority' of the world and have a major television show bloviating about the transgressions of others.

Let’s start with Bill Clinton. The former President has been accused of sexual misconduct by three women (one, Juanita Broaddrick has claimed he raped her) yet this apparently posed no problem for liberals last year.

And what about film director Roman Polanski? He was named Best Director at the Oscars in 2002 despite having fled America for Europe in 1978 after being arrested and charged in the US with engaging in unlawful sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old girl.

Woody Allen has a long and deeply uncomfortable history of allegations against him after his ex-wife, Mia Farrow, claimed he sexually abused their adopted daughter.

In 2009, David Letterman was forced to admit he had indulged in extra marital affairs with staff – including those vastly junior to him – who worked on his CBS show.

As Heat Street has previously reported, the Times is facing accusations of racial discrimination and its top dog is dogged by shocking allegations of lying about and covering up the sexual abuse of children.

The left is splashing O'Reilly all over the media right now, and he should have consequences... but so should the others... but because they are part of the "clique", their transgressions are stuffed in the closet.
He was an arrogant, smug, SOB and I for one am glad they fired him. He was always chastising the "black family" when his behavior, all along, was not conducive to the promotion of "family". I am glad he is gone and I hope the door hits him where nature splits him....on his way out!

I don't get the hypocrisy part since pretty much all of the events you mentioned were addressed in some fashion, why wasn't Bill Cosby mentioned. It's not as if he was swept under the rug, besides many on the right actual liked him.
The difference in this event was that Fox reached settlement with around 9 women but O'Reilly lived to talk another day. I don't see that anything your blogger mentioned compares to this event.
Fox has had a 1950s frat house atmosphere since the day it went on the air. With Roger Ailes at the helm, that was a given. People like O'Reilly could swing free and loose without repurcussions because that was the corporate culture. Girls were there to be blond and pretty. That's why they had to wear the tight skirts and their legs always had special lighting.
Fox has higher ratings than the other cable news, but it's not the most desirable demographic. Fox's typical viewer is over 70, and they don't spend as much as the 18-34 crowd, or the 18-54 crowd. That's why most of the ads were for adult diapers, erectile dysfunction pills, senior retirement, lots and lots of prescription medication ("Ask your doctor about...") and those "the world is coming to an end and you have to invest in gold!" commercials.
