House GOP Exempts Itself From Zombie Trumpcare

"The new Republican amendment, introduced Tuesday night, would allow states to waive out of Obamacare’s ban on pre-existing conditions. This means that insurers could once again, under certain circumstances, charge sick people higher premiums than healthy people.

Republican legislators liked this policy well enough to offer it in a new amendment. They do not, however, seem to like it enough to have it apply to themselves and their staff. A spokesperson for Rep. Tom MacArthur (R-N.J.) who authored this amendment confirmed this was the case: members of Congress and their staff would get the guarantee of keeping these Obamacare regulations."

Of course they're keeping it for themselves. There's nothing wrong w/ Obamacare, if you want a free market solution to healthcare. Everything that Republicans wanted in healthcare reform is in Obamacare. They've suckered the lemmings in their base to sacrifice their lives in order to keep themselves in power.

At some point, Republican voters are going to open their eyes and realize they've been getting conned for almost a decade with smoke, mirrors, and misdirection.

I think thats wishful thinking for many of them. At a certain point, you're just too committed. Especially the older ones. Change is hard. Admitting you got conned is harder. Its why theres so many truly amazing denials, and faulty logic from them. Humans are no the most rational or logical of people. When the AI's kill us all we will probably deserve it

Excuse me, but I already have a health care scheme imposed upon me as of, what was it? 2010?

Why should I give a **** if they want to lock a red set of shackles around my ankles rather than a blue set? Makes no difference. The only thing that would is for them to release the shackles completely. Then I would care because THEN I could have a tiny little glimmer of hope that we can get back to the "land of the free" rather than the land of the shackled.

And beyond that, the congress dems exempted themselves from Obamacare as I recall. So what's new? Same **** different day.

But at some point they have to put 2 + 2 together right? They can't keep missing the answer that's hitting them in the face over and over again w/o out being wilful to a certain extent.

In 10 years, I bet most of them will lie about having ever been against Obamacare. They'll try to disown history and blame Liberal media for making it look like they were against it, when really they were the party of Romney that first introduced it in Massachusetts. Revisionist trash coming up in 2027.
