Blog: Veteran faces 21 years in prison for possession of pistol magazines Pretty crazy. I know they will never sentence him consecutively but harsh for what he is accused of. Probably owned them pre-ban. A law abiding citizen turned into a criminal because of ridiculous gun laws!! In the meantime real criminals are doing a lot worse!!!

Army Vet Faces 21 years for High Capacity Magazines
Should there be different laws for Army vets?

Laws are laws, don't break them unless you are willing to take the punishment.

Of course he is not going to get 21 years.

7 years for a high capacity magazine? I think he can challenge it under cruel and unusual punishment if nothing else, cause that is insane.

Look, I could see a month. Total. AT MOST.

I may be biased as I think laws like that are dumb though. But come on.

You aren't biased in that respect. Politicians have been on a law making binge and it needs to stop! These laws do nothing to protect anyone, and only hurt law abiding citizens who one day were well within the law and the next felons, by no fault of their own.

It is estimated that there are more than 6M newly minted felons in CA now... much to the glee of the entire legal system that minted them.

Does the OP really believe this guy is going to do 21 years?!

As a liberal democrat that owns multiple assault rifles, the high-capacity mag laws annoy me. However, I abide by them. Because....LAW.

Its even dumber then you think. Lets make this law to stop someone about to commit a death penalty level offense.

Yeah those extra 7 years are going to REALLY concern them.

And 3D printing is actually a thing for some of us.

The problem is..they COULD. That is a problem, because it takes only a couple people to act foolishly, and we will have VAST miscarriages of justice.

LOL. I also love these threads because this is where so many people I argue with are suddenly disturbed by having me on their side.

The big question is, why does anyone even need a high capacity magazine ? Made to one thing, kill lots of people in a hurry.

Oh, yeah, because gun lovers want them and have that right.

Just another example of what democrats consider "reasonable gun control". This will stop zero crimes, save zero lives, all it does is create 'criminals' out of law abiding people.
