"He was driving towards us in an aggressive manner."
Except the police chief has now come out saying the body camera footage shows they were driving away. Which is what the other kids in the car said who are still living.
It's Texas so I don't expect that. I think body cameras should be mandatory but I don't think even with body camera footage Texas would punish the officer.
This happen in a burb which is next to the one I live in. The original story was the cops were called because of unruly teenagers at a party. The cop story was the kids were driving toward him and he fired because he thought his life was in danger. The kids lawyer said the kids were simply getting away from the scene because the cops showed and everyone was scattering. The kids in the car didn't even know their friend had been shot in the head until they got several blocks away and he was the only one not talking. I'm not sure which story is correct but I do know Balch Springs has a very small police force. It was a speed trap until they raised the speeding limit to 70 mph. I will be interesting to see how this plays out. The kid that got killed lives in my city.
Well, with something like half a million armed law enforcement in the US, this would be happening multiple times a day if it weren't a small minority. Do you disagree?

My gut says the kids did nothing different than what all kids do and it was a criminal event perpetrated by the cop. My gut has been wrong before.

That speed limit hike must've cost them a ton of money.

Ehhhhh....killing people is a pain in the ass even if you're a cop. There are other ways to be a crooked cop besides wasting some black kid.
