I don't see why gambling is illegal (at least outside of Nevada and reservations). If it's a tax thing, then how do casinos in Nevada manage?

Your thoughts?

gambling is legal in nevada, new jersy, and indian reservations. as to why it is illegal every where else is a matter to take up with the state legislatures and the people of the state.

however also understand that there is a criminal element in gambling, even in nevada where gaming licenses are tightly controlled as to who gets them.

Why what?
The statement is very clear and I am confused why anyone would believe that gambling outside of Nevada or wherever was mentioned would be illegal.

You'd think most liberals would support government saving people from themselves.

As a TRUE conservative, the government has no business outlawing drugs, prostitution or gambling.

I have no interest in those other than alcohol and the occasional poker game at my neighbor's house, but if others want to snort some coke, exchange money for sex and bet their car on a game of dice, that's their business not mine.

It is legal here in Colorado and just a few years ago they authorized to raise to stakes to bring in more games.

I am all for it being legal nationally and the gov needs to figure out how to tax it appropriately.

There are some issues though especially here. I know a few people that used to work in the casinos in Black Hawk and they would say people would come in with their welfare and SS checks and gamble them away. The casinos would actually cash them. I don't know if they still do that but that needs to stop as a deterrent, small as it is.
