Mexico has surpassed both Iraq and Afghanistan to become the world’s most violent country after Syria, the study by the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) says.Nearly 23,000 people were killed in Mexico in 2016 as the turf wars among drug cartels continued. Around 17,000 were killed in Afghanistan and 16,000 in Iraq during the same time period.
Our elite media is consumed by trivia while real world events are spinning ever more out of control. Do you think if the above was well known it would increase or decrease demand for a wall along that border? The answer is self evident.

The murder rate in Mexico is 5 times higher than the USA per 1,000,000 people. That is assuming we are getting a full count from Mexico. No matter how you slice it Mexico is very dangerous. What is even more disturbing is much of the illegal immigration is coming from Central America (Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador) which have much higher murder rates than even Mexico. Honduras and El Salvador are the two most dangerous countries in the world, Guatemala #7. Honduras has more than 20 times the murder rate as the USA. Yes we need a wall.
Please note Mexico is a pretty large nation, 127 million. I am sure even if you looked at the ratios, fatalities divided by population, Mexico still is high. Iraq and Afghanistan are both under 50 million I believe. But yeah, for a suppose nation in "peace time" those numbers are shockingly high. Can't believe Mexicans deal with it. Maybe it is highly centralized, like it is in the USA. So that the middle class family in suburbia doesn't really care.

I've seen this covered in the "elite media" extensively for years. It's widely known that Mexico has been struggling with crime, particular organized drug cartel crime, for a long time.
I question if you have been paying attention, or if you're just trying to invent a new narrative...
