It might be a worn out Hollywood stereotype of the sweaty corrupt Mexican policeman taking bribes but it is true.

The violent but rich from drug money cartels run the place and money talks in Mexico. You do the math.

Life just does not have the same value south of the border as we place on it here in the states and it is not only Mexico but Central and South America as well.

Mexico, Iraq, heck most of the Middle East are places that I would not want to visit outside its tourist areas.

Maybe it is highly centralized, like it is in the USA. So that the middle class family in suburbia doesn't really care.
It is concentrated near the US border. Juarez, Laredo, Tijuana to name three dangerous border cities. Mexico does not have that much middle class suburbia especially the border cites. Poor people in the middle of the violence and the rich who have walls to keep the trouble away.

I have known for many years that Mexico is one of the most violent places on the planet, and it was the mainstream media that gave me that information.

But still the mainstream media is media for (everyone) and it downplays certain kinds of stories for the sake of everyone, like downplaying news stories that will make different groups of people hate each other. And the mainstream media does not try to scare people or spread propaganda and hate to get people to vote for a certain political party.

Republican news groups on the other hand use propaganda to scare people, divide people, and make people hate each other to get people to vote republican (in order to get the republicans corporate agenda.)

Whether its using Swine flu or Muslims to scare people, getting people to hate Mexicans, or using talk of God to get votes its the republican media that manipulates people more than anyone.

The republican media is only there to herd its listeners into fear and hate and then get people believing republicans are saviors, and then the republican corporate politicians get to Washington and pass CEO tax cuts, corporate tax cuts, and corporate deregulation.

As soon as these criminals cross the border they're subject to actual justice that they can't pay their way out of. They're not going to come here in any large numbers.

Oh no the media has not told us Mexico has a high murder rate, I think a migrating bird told me himself.

Anyway, if you are fearful of Mexican murder rates, legalizing as many drugs as possible would be the best solution. Mexico is a Walmart/FedEx for American illegal drug users. Guess Trump/Sessions wasn't a good choice if you care about this.
