You are correct in that a lot of times the whole unnamed source and such are bogus, but there is also the scenario where the person does not want to reveal who they are in fear of retaliation, so they are an unnamed source. That doesn't mean their information is not truthful, it just means they want to remain anonymous.
But that leaves us not knowing what is credible and what is not. Unnamed sources could very well be not truthful. It's so easy to start a rumor.
The nonsense that the left keeps shoveling out is the reason why its hard to get anything done in D.C. And in spite of that, President Trump has already done quite a bit.

Can we unpin this thread since we know this topic has been debunked? Trump broke no law. He is allowed to share classified information with whomever he chooses. Obama did this routinely. Israel isn't upset & has said they look forward to working with Trump. Russia not our enemy here, rather our partner. The meeting was about joint anti-terrorism issues. The big secret he "leaked" was about ISIS planing to use laptop bombs, which has been public knowledge & covered by the press for a year now. Why keep this pinned? At least edit the title. Maybe it should read "Trump perfectly within protocol to share intel"?

Although the treaty was not supposed to have any impact on Britain, the leaked cables show that Russia used the talks to demand more information about the UK’s Trident missiles, which are manufactured and maintained in the US.
Washington lobbied London in 2009 for permission to supply Moscow with detailed data about the performance of UK missiles. The UK refused, but the US agreed to hand over the serial numbers of Trident missiles it transfers to Britain.
Professor Malcolm Chalmers said: “This appears to be significant because while the UK has announced how many missiles it possesses, there has been no way for the Russians to verify this. Over time, the unique identifiers will provide them with another data point to gauge the size of the British arsenal.”
Duncan Lennox, editor of Jane’s Strategic Weapons Systems, said: “They want to find out whether Britain has more missiles than we say we have, and having the unique identifiers might help them.”
While the US and Russia have long permitted inspections of each other’s nuclear weapons, Britain has sought to maintain some secrecy to compensate for the relatively small size of its arsenal.
Because we have treaties that rely on each side knowing what the other possesses, hiding the true count undermines the treaties effectiveness.
