Is this why we have not seen the transcripts of Bill & Lynch on the tarmac?

Speaking of Obstruction.
The fact Comey sat on it, and not informed the DOJ formally, hold 2 separate violations of federal code of obstructing justice. Not to mention the extortion element involved. It is a no win situation, that really backfired, forgetting Comey's testimony that exact thing never happened for political purposes.

Full text would help.
Quote:
Hirono: So, if the attorney general or senior officials at the Department of Justice opposes a specific investigation, can they halt that FBI investigation?
Comey: In theory, yes.
Hirono: Has it happened?
Comey: Not in my experience. Because it would be a big deal to tell the FBI to stop doing something without appropriate purpose ... Often times they give us opinions that we don't see a case there, and so you ought to stop investing resources in it, but I'm talking about a situation where we were told to stop something for a political reason. That would be a very big deal. It's not happened in my experience.
Cliff notes- did FBI or DOJ ask you to halt investigation?

Comey- "Not in my experience, no"

So it appears the right wing blogosphere is once again caught contorting the truth.

BentBow, you're kidding, right? This statement was covered in another thread and you've taken it out of context. See Threerun's post above.

Not to mention, the legal experts in the articles I've read have stated Trump's request was highly improper.

Highly improper doesn't mean it was illegal. They would have stated as much.

Armchair posturing and lawyering based on wishful thinking isn't a very productive pastime.

Wait for things to shake out and let the experts tell us what's what. Until that happens some of you are simply guessing.

They think so much about Clinton, I hope she's paying rent for all the space in their head.

However both could be considered illegal.
Prove it. Show us the laws that apply - exact wording, statute etc.

A "suggestion that rises to the level of power to be obstruction would meet the criteria for intervention.

Comey says no one has intervened.

Again, completely compatible with Trump attempting to influence it. Why do you have such a hard time with that concept? Were you THAT hopeful that you had found the smoking gun?

LOL.
