In the long narrative of American history, presidents are either Insiders or Outsiders. Insiders go the Right Schools, meet the Right People, work in the Right Companies and serve in the Right Government Agencies. Insider: Roosevelt, Kennedy, GW Bush, Gore. Clintons and Obama masterfully worked their way into the Insider Circle. Truman and Nixon and now Trump are classic outsider.
Once you understand this narrative, you realize the party affiliation of the candidate is simply a matter of convenience; what really matters is their standing within the traditional Eastern Establishment. Will they faithfully carry water for the Establishment, i.e. be a loyal Insider, or do they pose a threat to the power and wealth of the Insiders, i.e. an Outsider?
The Establishment fears and loathes Outsiders, and seeks to destroy them, usually via the mainstream media.
Nixon and Truman were hardly outsiders. Nixon spent most of his adult life in politics. He was a US Rep and a Senator from California, also the VPOTUS for 8 years. Truman was a judge in Jackson Co, MO and a senator before being the VP nominee in 1944. Trump, OTOH, was never elected dogcatcher.
And Trumps been a insider forever. He's spent tons of time with these folks, and is a billionaire. Lol. Trumps a huge insider that conned his base into the lie that he wasnt.

I see no difference between someone who has hobnobbed with the political class and those that are of the political class being an insider or an outsider.
Petch calling Trump an outsider is like calling the Kochs outsiders or as is claimed Soros.
For him to have called Nixon an outsider was one of the more ignorant statements he was made.

Strange that these guys elected trump and have absolutely no idea who he even is, good grief sheep are really stupid

I guess you think Kennedy and Reagan weren't outsiders. Both were not establishment yes man, and both ended up getting shot.
Kennedy wanted to end the cold war, dismantle the CIA, and worst of all, was working towards allowing the US government to print it's own currency, cutting the bankers out (that was most likely the reason he was killed).
One of these groups were going to get Kennedy, but crossing the banks like he did is a death sentence.
Anyone who's aligned with BIG MONEY is an insider. BIG oil, BIG banks, BIG military, etc. There are powerful people behind the scenes, multi billionaires, who pull the strings so that they can make more money. That's why we're so divided even though we think we stand for different values. But it doesn't really matter what we think. It's all about money and greed.
