If this comes about, I'm sure the comedians who benefit from his holding the Oval Office would welcome it, even at the price of a sudden "bear market" in good material. Then again, I'm sure they know that no good thing (strictly in terms of material to work with) lasts forever. Even in good times, some politicians and even presidents do crazy things exposing them to comedians' sharp barbs. They'll survive.

Even the bloated military budgets ceased to be highly worthwhile after 1991. The last truly decent Republican president was Eisenhower - 57 years ago!
