I suspect this is part of the issue -

Congress amended FISA in 2007 to let the government wiretap communications that either begin or end outside the United States without FISC approval; in a more substantial 2008 overhaul, it limited that power to non-U.S. persons. The last reauthorization, in 2012, set the current expiration date of Dec. 31, 2017

So Congress is currently debating this slog of a law that supposedly protects us from bad actors, but was used most recently by the Obama administration to spy on Trump and his advisers and election team.

The more hearings DC has, the more obvious this becomes. IMO Congress would love to renew FISA and move on with life, but as America becomes more aware of just how much spying the Obama administration did on ordinary Americans, the more difficult passage becomes.

Democrats also have to be aware that their impeachment case against Trump is flimsy, and while they gored the bear, Trump is still in office and royally pissed off. And he has access to the same tools Obama did, and Obama created a precedent that Democrats seem perfectly comfortable with.

Maybe that's why the White House did this - White House supports renewal of spy law without reforms: official | Reuters

What's good for the goose...right libs?

So many of you keep acting like nothing occurred when its known that Flynn was involved with at least 2 foreign countries and known by the intelligence agencies and the DOJ to be lying to Trump and or his transition team about his involvement. Trump was informed of Flynn's involvement prior to assuming office and appointed Flynn anyways. For the record Obama's authority continued until Jan 20th.
