It is believed that 70% of Mexican mayors are involved with organized crime.
Violence is up 60% in a key area that is dominated by drug cartels.
Mexico has a lot of resources and wealth, but 40% live in poverty.
Juarez is a mess.
Additionally, the US under Bush and then under a different and bigger program under Obama armed Mexican Drug Cartels, which hasn't helped matters. Obama's Fast and Furious that allowed assault rifles to go to violent drug cartels have been used to kill over 300 Mexicans and counting...plus a few Americans. Trump better not follow in the path of Obama-Bush on this.
Juarez is a mess.
....
When will this stop? How will this stop?
Solve America's drug addiction. Juarez is a mess because it's on the border, a gateway to the huge American market, and the cartel wars are over who controls it. America consumers don't care as long as the pipeline stays open and they get their drugs.

Yes essentially the problem is the illegality of trade which has created an underground market.
There is no solving "americas drug addiction" anymore than there was solving americas alcoholism during prohibition ( it actually increased)
Controlling the flow of drugs into our country isn't going to be stopped just by legalizing them. The drug cartels will find something else to sell. It is sad, we have people south of the border crossing illegally daily just to try and make a few bucks to feed their families and yet these jerks just get richer and richer. Mayb it is up to the Mexican government to get their act together? As usual there are those who blame us for another country's problems.
End the black market trade of these "illicit" substances by eliminating their controlled status. Ending the war on drugs is not admitting defeat. It is an admission that the laws used to control these substances causes more damage (as a whole) than the drugs themselves. Ending the costly prohibition of drugs is the sane, rational approach to a real problem.

If drugs are decriminalized, there is no need to stop the flow into the country, just as there is no need to stop the flow of caviar, swiss cheese, wine, Porsches, etc.
Cartels and black markets spring up wherever governments take away free trade.
The best thing that could happen is we invade Mexico. Make them all speak English and put in our political system, because its so successful, and its a win for both countries. It might even be cheaper than a wall and we wouldn't need a large border patrol either. It solves a big part of the illegal immigration issues too.
There's a trend. Almost everything has gotten worse since Trump's election.
American Bi-partisanship
Terror attacks worldwide
Middle East tensions
North Korea
European Union tensions
The opioid epidemic
Etc.. on and on and on..
The only thing thats better (for them at lease) is Russia's rise in world influence.. hmmmm..
