Can't believe people are edging her on. Now her career is ruined, and a college degree that she spent 4-8 years on and thousands of dollars is rendered worthless. I understand those male students were only a few years younger than her, but why can't people be professionals anymore?

Of course now if a male teacher does this he is considered a rapist, a creep, a pedo, etc. And once he ends up in prison and the other inmates find out he is in there for messing around with underage boys, look out!

A woman, bright enough to have become a math teacher at a private school, young, hot... I doubt she'll have much trouble making a new career.

This kind of thing has been going on forever. They are getting caught a lot more these days because of texting. At the high school level, male or female, I don't lose sleep over it, though it is illegal for a reason. It's similar to sexual harassment in the workplace.

Any younger than high school and jail time should be serious.

It's an abuse of power. The power dynamics of that kind of encounter make it abuse.

Most people wouldn't tolerate it if it was a male teacher with a female student of the same age, but teenage girls are generally more mature and developed than boys. If it's not right for them (and it isn't) then it certainly isn't OK for teenage boys.

My boyfriend feels that his teacher abused him when she enticed him into sex. Sure, he wanted it - he was 14! But wanting it and it being appropriate or emotionally healthy are two very different things.

It's different because males and females are mentally wired different in regards to sex.
