I hope it drives some sort of debate on gun control. These days it's like "lets just arm everyone". I don't get it at all. A vast majority of people don't need or shouldn't have guns. They're deadly weapons, period.
I can't count anymore how many times I see stories of parents accidentally shooting their kids, kids shootings kids, brothers accidentally shooting their twins and on and on and on.
And yet the solution is......we should arm more people to try to reduce the level of gun violence.
He spoke. It was very nice. Said nary a word about the gun issue and how we need to get these blasted things off the streets. It would make a great first project for him to focus (if he can) on. Specific, Easy to accomplish, Short time frame to success, and Support across every segment of society.

We have no idea what this nut was thinking or if he has any kind of a criminal record except being picked up 11 years ago on a charge that was later dropped or the case was close. What makes you think, without any more information he would not have been given a license regardless and when are people going to realize, the more controls we put on anything, including guns the more the bad guys will get them for other places, like Mexico. We already have a problem with drugs coming here from Mexico, are you saying let's add another problem?
Every time a Republican gets involved in an incident with a gun is one more Republican who is more than likely to vote against guns.
