As you can see in this NASA photo, the little red blob is the remnant of ice from the previous Inter-Glacial Period. So, yeah, the melting of the Greenland Ice Sheet is completely normal during an Inter-Glacial Period.

Temperatures rise during an Inter-Glacial Period, and ice sheets melt, that's what happens naturally.

Average global temperatures of 67°F to as high as 71°F (which is more than 10°F warmer than present) are the norm, not the exception.

How can you justify carbon tax schemes if you don't make it sound like the end of the world?

It IS melting from global warming. That's why there is excessive loose ice drifting to the south to Newfoundland and out to the Atlantic ocean. It's thick polar ice that has melted through and broken off from the polar ice plate in the extreme north. Because the polar ice plate is melting and breaking up.

But Barber said once out on the water the scientists realized this wasn't the usual sea ice, which would be relatively easy for the icebreaker to plow through, but thicker ice from further north which had broken off because of climate change.

"For me it was easy to see the ice conditions weren't just difficult, these were unprecedented ice conditions," he said.

Personaly I believe in global warming caused by green house gases. Of course our,US, output of these gasses has gone down over the last 20 years. Of course going forward, China, India, and many other countries will be going through the roof.

Then it's not melting fast enough. We need to burn more fossil fuels to get that ship back to the summit!

We would like to study Global Warming but the arctic ice is at centuries high thickness and so now we've coined "Global Climate Change."

Sincerely,
