If Trump removes Mueller from his position, he can use the same argument that many are using, and that is, Mueller is biased in that he is going to defend his political lover Comey.
They go back a long way together, and there is no way any of this investigation is going to make Comey look bad.
If he stays on(which I doubt) he will alter the facts to make Trump look bad.
At this point, it is Mueller,Comey, against the President, and nothing more.
I believe Trump will put and end to it, and quickly.
I am sure in all his years in business, he has had a few adversaries to deal with, and he probably has, to his advantage.
This is no different, he will take them on.
There may still be a special prosecutor, but it won't be one as biased as Mueller.

I know, he isn't bright at all. The thing is firing Mueller is down right stupid and will bring instant obstruction charges. This is the same reason I think Trump wont go to Capital Hill unless legally compelled to. Why, well depending on his answer he either confirms obstruction charges or will tag perjury charges to him.

Wray is not the special prosecutor.
He is not the one who could possibly alter the facts in this investigation.
If any prosecution is forthcoming, it will be from the doj, not the fbi.
