Trump will probably have a fake video made of him beating up Kim Jong-un, put it on twitter with a comment about how sorry Obama is.

Everyone wants a quick fix - attack, bomb, send in the Marines or whatever. We've been at this game with North Korea for 65 years and things have not improved but have gotten worse. Trump, as crazy as he is, could start a diplomatic dialogue and maybe be the only one who could (God knows he would need competent help). Remember that Nixon was the only president who could realistically open diplomatic dialogue with China at the time because he was so anti-communist. He found people who could assist and advise him on China. Most members of the U.S. diplomatic brains have made a career of bad-mouthing and opposing any positive efforts with North Korea. Formal diplomatic relations with North Korea would be a game changer. It could not be any worse than what we have now. It would push China out of the role as a go-between. It would also shake up the ruling clique in NK. Maybe Trump should go there. China is apparently quite comfortable with things the way they are and won't raise a finger to rein in NK. We don't even know for certain what is going on there as it stands now. We fuss and complain about the Israel-Palestinian conflict but we have our own mess with North Korea and allowed it to get very much out of hand.

Trump will do the same thing about North Korea that he does about everything else. He will stomp his foot, send out a few tweets to fire up his cult members and ultimately not do a damn thing.

Mostly likely? Tweet, I imagine. What else does he do?

He could invite Kim Jung-un for golf and a beautiful piece of chocolate cake, but that apparently didn't work with China.

I doubt that China would attack the US....they have to much to lose besides a military conflict. It would destroy China economically if the US cut trade off with China. Russia has nothing to gain either.

That will lead into Japan and South Korea being attacked. Probably a few Allies and Axis will form. No more proxy wars.
North Korea is mostly bluster and they know a war with South Korea and the US would not end well for them.

U.S. will suffer economically with a large financial debt to China.
If a conflict broke out between the US and China...do you honestly think the US would worry about China holding US bonds? The fact is a conflict between the US and China would hunt China more so. Look at the trade difference between the our two countries...last year the trade deficient was about $350 million.

Just be a hot mess. Best thing to do is work with China to put pressure on North Korea and help with hummanitariam aid in North Korea. Work with nations to put sanctions on North Korea
Humanitarian aid? Now that is rich...The US has gone thru this 'humanitarian aid' BS before numerous times and look where it got us. North Korea got the bomb and missiles that could potentially reach US soil and what did we get in return....nothing.
The US government has tried to get China to stem North Korea diplomatically for about, it seems, 100 years and we get the same results.

Here's a thing Trump could do, in the NK case -- he could simply turn his back on the whole Korean issues, withdrawing troops from SK, not involved in anything on the Korean peninsula. If South Korea wants to develop own nuclear weapon, starts a nuclear war or any wars with the North, that's their own business.

After that, North Korea will have no reason to be hostile to US; South Korea will not be restrained from doing anything.

Yeah right, except that there is this little country to the north of Korea that can and would step in. Not to mention Japan going off and rebuilding their own military might so that they can protect themselves, being that we could not be trusted to help. You really have no grasp on the situation in the region do you.
