When dealing with a nation like N.Korea any action must be thought out carefully. N.Korea has little to lose. Only attack if you are prepared to go all the way. I think S.Korea understands that the USA isn't in a position to support an all out war.

Here's a crazy idea: suppose North and South Korea got into a real shootin' war...and nobody, not a single nation on the planet Earth, intervened. How long do you think such a war would last? I suspect both nations actually count on foreign intervention, which has the wonderful advantage of taking the burden off their own shoulders.

Reference France in Vietnam, 1954. They were extricated from a horrendous mess by the gallant intervention of the United States. Suppose we hadn't done that?

The latest NK attack didn't come out of the blue. SK was doing military training missions in off shore areas that are claimed by the North. NK requested SK move their training mission, SK refused. NK responded by shelling an SK fishing village

If Mexico did naval training off Santa Monica would the USA do nothing? I don't think so.

Uncle Kim is rattling sabers again. He does it every so often. It's nothing.

LOL............The US military has lost the initiative in the world. We have done NOTHING but sit on our hands for the last 50 years. You honestly think we are going to go to war with a nation like NK who actually HAS WMDs in the form of nuclear weapons, bio weapons, and chem weapons. Think about it people. There is a reason why NK is not being made an example out of. It would involve the murder of millions of people. Why the hell do you think NK has lasted this long. The US and the powers know that in a matter of hours a million people could die. It's easy to say this or that being an internet armchair general with no clue as to what NK is really capable of. Iraq was a joke.......and we cannot win in Afghanistan. NK could very easily turn into another insurgency guerrilla war like Vietnam where the US military is basically hamstrung trying to adapt as fast as possible unlike a conventional war. You attack Nk and there will definitely be a few US carriers that are attacked and possibly sunk. And NK will not hesitate to use everything it has. NK would be put down like a rabid dog by western powers no doubt.........but it would get its licks in and not go quietly into the night.
