The biased media is completely obsessed with Russian collusion narratives and anything to do with Comey, Putin, Flynn, etc. As an independent I used to watch CNN pretty regularly but the coverage has become so one sided and skewed they don't even pretend to be an objective network to fairly report the news. They've joined their fellow liberals in devoting every waking second of every day to trashing the president in pursuit of their impeachment wet dream. This much is evident in their dumb "now more than ever" commercial that they air every 5 minutes. If nothing evolves out of the Russia probe they will quietly move on to something else much like the overhyped special elections that Democrats have lost 4 times now. (They love to downplay these and sweep em under the rug. )
Stories not linked to Trump always have some subtle liberal narrative. They interview biased people with liberal agendas making sure that viewers who aren't interested in their BS conspiracies/ideologies won't get a fair shake at the day's reporting. I don't know if the reports of "staged" stories are true or not but I wouldn't put it past them. While I don't share the president's "Fake News" label I trust CNN significantly less and I'm definitely not alone. Is CNN the new king of the left wing? It used to be more in the middle.
CNN, like some other "news" organizations have been leftist all along. It is just that they dropped all pretenses of neutrality and journalistic integrity with an all out push to keep us on the road to socialism.
It is not so much they loved Hillary, as much as they knew to keep the damage Obama has been doing to this country going, they had to have another (D) as POTUS. They of course didn't look at it as damage, rather progressive change for the better.
Thus they put all their collective eggs in Hillary's basket, hoping that if she got elected, the veil they dropped would have been worth it.
If you really want to open your eyes to what has been happening in the news media circles, read the following two books;
Keep in mind that neither author is right wing. One is a neutral respected journalist who has investigated and reported on both parties. The other is an avowed liberal, but still sees the erosion of free speech at the hands of her own ideological brethren.

CNN tries too hard to appeal to Democrats and Republicans, not working. FOX News appeals only to Republicans, it works, that's why FOX is #1!

I can't comment on what it's like to watch CNN, as I do not have cable, but I do get updates from CNN on my iPad. I actually get updates from many outlets, including Fox, NYT, WaPo, and PBS. And some others, and read others that I don't get notification on.
CNN seems to offer a decent variety of content. I don't feel like they bombard me with Russia/Trump scandals, but then again, I read CNN, not watch. I can be a bit more selective in what I see, which I think is for the best.
I think CNN is mostly fine though I don't think anyone should rely on it exclusively. I don't think there's a single source that I would recommend anyone use exclusively.
