Further sign that this country is coming off the rails.
Note: The ban applies only to government employees, not private citizens.

It does not ban "government employees." It bans state or government funded/sponsored travel. People are free to spend their own money to travel anywhere they want on their own.

The irony of a liberal state banning travel right now.

I think they did that to prevent California's from experiencing what freedom is...
If they never know what it's like, they'll have no reason to protest or revolt...

Meh. If the embarrassing states want to discriminate against LGBT people, they can do so on their own tax dime.

Ah yes, nothing says freedom quite like those awful states whose politicians try to force their own personal hangups on to everyone who happens to live in the state.

No thanks.

Is the freedom to keep the gays in their place really that important? (You do know that's the issue, right?)

How can you be really, truly free if you can't kick lesbians out of their apartments, or make sure gay couples don't adopt?

Sooooo, if Kamala Harris decided to run for president in 2020 while she was a US Senator from California, she would be banned from campaigning/raising money in Kansas, Mississippi, North Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, Kentucky, South Dakota and Texas? And if these states responded in kind and decided not to let any of its state employees help California with emergencies like wildfires, for example, you'd be okay with it?
