Look, we either have a President or we don't. The office of the President has to mean something. You complain that he should be treated like everyone else, well, guess what. He isn't everyone else. He is the President. And I do hold him to a higher standard than everyone else. No president, Republican or Democrat, has ever behaved the way Trump has. He would have more respect if he was able to rise above the fray and act like a President. He cannot do that.

You want to get technical. In that case as an American citizen, you are correct, Trump exercised his freedom of speech.
Kathy Griffin exercised her freedom of speech, but she met tolerance. She lost to it.
Trump. He's POTUS. Not a joke at any level. But in many people's opinion, including my own, he's expected to carry himself in a certain way. His position is at such a level that wearing it on your sleeve isn't the best approach. Athletes walk that line being role models. Trump is playing on shaky ground. It's not about him being right or wrong, but it's about the expectation of 326,000,000 people. To many people, using the words psychopath or sociopath can easily be deemed a reality.

It's no surprise they have double standards and are hypocrites. This arrogance is one of the reasons they are on their heels at the moment. This morning they showed how absurd they truly have become.
I didn't like the tweet, but I hated the reaction even more.

So, Trump has to carry himself through all these personal attacks on he and his family, while the MSM are not accountable for anything they say. The rule used to be the family was off limits. MSM has to be held accountable for their rude, cruel, and inhumane statements as well.
I guarantee if MSM treated him as President with at least a little respect, he'd most certainly lighten up himself. I can't blame him for blowing a cork after some of the things these morons have said.

And, honestly, I think the vast, vast majority of people are in agreement that what Kathy Griffin did was wrong. She should not have done that. It was an awful thing to do. Not ok, Kathy!
