He did. But what did he squelch in the process? Or what news agency did he call fake news? He never tried to keep the press out of press conferences. Or allow Russian news media into meetings where American press were not allowed. I think there is a difference.
It looks like CNN did not correctly identify the creator of the wrestling meme that Trump retweetedj, according to Buzzfeed. There was a similar one out there.
It still doesn't matter, CNN threatened him big time. If what you say is true that CNN did not coerce him, they should have left it alone after that. But no, they wanted to make an example out of this guy, and in doing so they just proved what ignorant sacks they really are. CNN's now being played like Joe Sausagehead, unlike CNN has been playing their fan base and regular viewers with all the bogus "news" they've been spewing.

This needs to be repeated because some just can't get it through their brain. He's a middle aged man.

What needs to be repeated, and repeated, is that CNN, an enormous and influential corporation got ridiculously butt-hurt due to a silly (and yes, it was very silly) meme created by some guy on the Internet.
Think about that, first. CNN got freaking butt-hurt about a silly meme.
Then think about CNN's absolutely disgusting reaction of searching for the guy and threatening to out / dox him for exercising his 1st Amendment right to political expression.
Think about that!
That is the definition of "chilling", and CNN deserves every bit of criticism and abuse now being directed at it and its ultra-thin-skinned reporters.
I mean, it was bad enough that CNN has been little more than a political propaganda outlet for the Dems for years. CNN has now sunk to a new low. Shocking, as CNN was already the dregs of the barrel, so to speak.
Those of you defending CNN scare the living daylights out of me. You are also likely the ones calling Trump a Fascist. The fact that you are not only ignorant of the rights protected by our Constitution but also irony-challenged would be hilarious, were it not so horrifying.
If it is 'mean' to identify a 15-year-old kid who posted to a public internet, then 15-year-old kids should not be allowed to use the internet, because they appear to have no idea what they are doing. The interne is not anonymous.
If someone photoshopped a Trump logo, they would be hit with a copyright lawsuit. CNN is being magnanimous.
