President Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., was promised damaging information about Hillary Clinton before agreeing to meet with a Kremlin-connected Russian lawyer during the 2016 campaign, according to three advisers to the White House briefed on the meeting and two others with knowledge of it.

The meeting was also attended by his campaign chairman at the time, Paul J. Manafort, and his son-in-law, Jared Kushner. Mr. Manafort and Mr. Kushner only recently disclosed the meeting, though not its content, in confidential government documents described to The New York Times.

The Times reported the existence of the meeting on Saturday. But in subsequent interviews, the advisers and others revealed the motivation behind it.
The meeting — at Trump Tower on June 9, 2016, two weeks after Donald J. Trump clinched the Republican nomination — points to the central question in federal investigations of the Kremlin’s meddling in the presidential election: whether the Trump campaign colluded with the Russians. The accounts of the meeting represent the first public indication that at least some in the campaign were willing to accept Russian help.
And while President Trump has been dogged by revelations of undisclosed meetings between his associates and the Russians, the episode at Trump Tower is the first such confirmed private meeting involving members of his inner circle during the campaign — as well as the first one known to have included his eldest son. It came at an inflection point in the campaign, when Donald Trump Jr., who served as an adviser and a surrogate, was ascendant and Mr. Manafort was consolidating power.
Trump

I can't wait to learn how many laws were broken, and to see the MOBSTER Trump family and their cohorts dragged out in cuffs!
When the report is coming from the NYT, “information that individuals connected to Russia were funding the Democratic National Committee and supporting Mrs. Clinton.” becomes "promised damaging information about Hillary Clinton" and then people like you believe it.

Trump Jr. was told she had “information that individuals connected to Russia were funding the Democratic National Committee and supporting Mrs. Clinton.”. As much as you want to believe the NYT spin on it, this is the actual truth. Now we find out it was a set-up by Fusion GPS, funded by the DNC to frame the Trump team.

That is what Trump Jr. himself told the TIMES, LOL! Don't worry, I'm sure we all will be able to hear him repeat it during his trial!

How do you know that exactly? You know what else is illegal? Leaking classified information. Leaking the President's phone calls. Unmasking person involved in an investigation. Setting up an email server in your home if you're the S.O.S. etc. etc.

You're a lost cause. Trying to convince you this behavior and this endless shady dealings with Russians is not normal is absolutely pointless. You're obviously not here for actual discussion, you're just here to ridicule Democrats.

Apparently don sr. was at TT all day except for lunch. But I'm sure he knew nothing about it.

Not for nothing but who goes to a meeting without knowing with whom you'll be meeting? And the claim was that the Russians were helping Hillary? Really?

Trump is not known for his brains. I suppose the Sons aren't too bright either. Saying they are smart is like saying Realtors are the top of the heap among professions.

If Don Sr. had 1/2 a brain:

1. He wouldn't have went broke so many times.
2. He wouldn't be in this office (he didn't want the office - thought he'd have fun and lose - well, surprise, surprise).

The reason Don the Con needs Bannon and the son of a convicted criminal (Kushner) and others "advising" him full time is that he doesn't remember stuff.

If any of you ever got caught up in a web of lies you know how hard it gets to keep track of them. Due to $$$ and lawyers, Don has never had to pay for his crimes. But maybe being POTUS is different.

There are lots of people waiting in the wings to tell their stories - Mr. Flynn, for example. I refuse to call such traitors by their former Military Rank.

Yeah, when Putin detests Hilary because of the sanctions. One would think Trump Jr. could have come up with a more plausible lie, lol! Guess the apple didn't fall far from the Trump tree, after all.

State Legislature: majority Republican

Dems: worst shape since the 1920s and face an unfavorable 2018 Senate map.
Not soo cocky grasshopper.. Political history has taught us that alot of s*** can change over a few election cycles. Me thinks those who didn't vote due to disenchantment over the last election will come out in droves in upcoming ones.

We'll see.
