When I was in High School the debate topic in '65 or '66 was about foreign aid.
The whole premise of financial aid was that we were giving a 'leg up' to countries and they would outgrow the need for the aid.
riiiiiiiiiiight
If we were serious about it, we wouldn't send cash. We would send teachers, and experts.
I can see arguing for less foreign aid if you're going to spend the money on something tangible and useful not just more bombs or tax cuts, but that's not the case here...
And it takes no measure of the declining of US soft power or the fact that less aid can lead to another Afghanistan or Somalia lawless land save heaven for terrorists....
Do you know what leads to a Somalia and Afghanistan? Putting our nose where it doesn't belong. If those people want to live like savages that is their choice. Dumping money into those places is a complete waste. Not unlike the billions wasted on Haiti.
His supporters don't realize this amounts to next to nothing, meanwhile the CBO indicates Trump's 10 year budget plan will end up with a deficit of $1T rather than his prediction of a $200B surplus.
This amounts to a few million and will just add to world instability.

yes sure- b/c we truly live in a world where global problems never end up on your doorstep...the world is vast and not connected in anyway....
I also love how this supposed evangelical/Christian sect of society is so eager to let others suffer, as perfectly highlighted by your sentiments....

agreed- it's like saying you will be able to pay your mortgage this month b/c you didn't put a dollar in the tip jar at the pizza place this time....

Please. You haters will always have something bad to say. If he didn't do this, you'd be bashing him for not doing it. Now that he's doing it, you are bashing him for doing it. No one should ever pay any attention to the haters here.
Good. When we no longer have people on this country going hungry or not having clothing or running water, and our infrastructure is in good shape, then we can send foreign countries money.

No...we want to help our own, before helping other countries. Kind of like feeding your own family before feeding other people.
