A married Catholic school teacher has been jailed for just 23 months after pleading guilty to having sexual relations with two of her female teenage students.
Randi Zurenko, 34, begged a Pennsylvania judge for leniency for the sake of her own young children when being sentenced on Thursday.
Guess it's not just catholic priests you have to worry about. Of course, as usual being female lets her get off very easy.

They would have been 13 and 14 when this started.
Doesn't seem like it was consensual as all that, either. The idea behind age of consent laws is that children are not emotionally equiped to be in a realationship on equal footing, asn are subject to manipulation. The sentance was a good call:
[LEFT]One victim told the court Zurenko had manipulated her psychologically for years. Police said Zurenko once massaged the girl and undid her bra. She also repeatedly gave her alcohol.
[LEFT]'You stunted my growth because I depended on you,' the girl said in court.
'I felt so confused and abandoned and trapped. I trusted nobody... You took everything that was mine.
[LEFT]The girl, who has since graduated from the school, was underage at all times.
[LEFT]Zurenko allegedly went on to abuse the second girl from 2015 to 2016, taking photographs of her half-nude and of them together while they had sex.
[/LEFT][/LEFT][/LEFT][LEFT]'During the course of the interview Zurenko admitted to providing both victim 1 and victim 2 alcohol while they were students at Bishop McDevitt.
[LEFT]She pleaded guilty to multiple charges of institutional sexual assault, unlawful contact with minors, corruption of minors, possessing child pornography and disseminating obscene materials to minors.
"The reason we're here today is because she has caused tragedy," Deputy Attorney General Megan Madaffari shot back. "When she engaged in sex acts with a 16-, 17-year-old girl perhaps she wasn't thinking of her family."

"She was supposed to be a mentor. She was an abuser," Madaffari said. "She is responsible for (leading the victims down) a path no young woman should ever have to follow."
Lewis said the case left him "troubled and puzzled."
"Your conduct can only be described as incomprehensible," the judge said. "I can only liken it to a Jekyll and Hyde situation."

Age of consent laws don't apply in PA if the suspect is in a "position of authority". Hence the crime. If she was some random woman off the street, then it would have been legal. It's still a sex crime in PA if a teacher has sex with an 18 year old student
