I don't quite understand Trump's statement at the bottom, if they are in compliance why would he choose not to recertify. Either they are in compliance or they're not.

Quote:
WASHINGTON — President Trump agreed on Monday to certify again that Iran is complying with an international nuclear agreement that he has strongly criticized, but only after hours of arguing with his top national security advisers, briefly upending a planned announcement as a legal deadline loomed.
Mr. Trump has repeatedly condemned the deal brokered by President Barack Obama as a dangerous capitulation to Iran, but six months into his presidency he has not abandoned it. The decision on Monday was the second time his administration certified Iran’s compliance, and aides said a frustrated Mr. Trump had told his security team that he would not keep doing so indefinitely.

About as bad as him claiming Barrack Oboma was a Muslim and wasn't born here, then finally changing his tune at election time (along with all the other 'tune changers' just to sucker enough to vote for him).

I thought when Trump was running for President he said that was just a horrific deal the Democrats made? I guess Trump is more concerned with Jr. Getting thrown in jail or something. Trump usually has something bad to say about anything Obama had a hand in...

He needs to inform congress every 90 days if Iran is in compliance, much discussion yesterday but it sounds like his cabinet prevailed..

I wonder what would happen if just the US claimed non-compliance, what would the other 5 countries do.

Obama's 'worst deal ever' has been recertified and attempts by Congress to replace Obamacare have failed. Maybe Obama wasn't so bad after all.

I am about to burst with schadenfreude. The 90-day interval was put in there on the insistence of the Republicans who hated the deal, and now it's a Republican administration that has to step up, every 90 days, and say that yep, the Iranians are doing as they promised, this deal that we hate so much is being kept to the letter.

Sticking it to the libs may feel good there and then, but it turns out it's not what you'd call a winning long-time strategy.

What the rest of the world has been doing since Trump got elected - shrug, ignore, and make arrangements without and around the US.

So every 90 days Trump will need to reiterate that they are in compliance for the next 3 years, it doesn't get any better than that. This falls under the category -be careful what you ask for you may get what you want.

Just read where Bannon asked Trump to claim that Iran was not in compliance, no surprise, but why is he even in the meeting. Evidently Tillerson and others felt differently.

Well, you know how it is. One of these days, the wall will magically appear, ObamaCare will be easily repealed, no Muslims will ever be admitted again, and Carrier will hire 3,000 new workers.
One of these days, our crumbing infrastructure will all be instantly fixed, made better than when it was all brand new, all of Trump's neckties will be made in America, and it will all be so easy we will get sick of it being so easy.

And then, we will all get 20 acres and a mule, and a chicken in every pot to make our lives complete. The Iran thing is in there, someplace, too. Along with a lot of other fantasies.
