President Trump has discussed with confidants and advisers in recent days the possibility of installing a new attorney general through a recess appointment if Jeff Sessions leaves the job, but he has been warned not to move to push him out because of the political and legal ramifications, according to people briefed on the conversations.
Quote:
Trump has long confided privately what he began to say publicly last week — that he blames Sessions’s recusal for setting in motion the appointment of Robert S. Mueller III as the special counsel of the Russia probe, which the president sees as unfair and a metastasizing problem for himself and his family.

Asked whether he believes Sessions will leave the Justice Department, Gingrich said, “No, no . . . I really don’t think so.” But he acknowledged that he cannot be certain until the president makes up his mind. “He is really mad,” Gingrich added.
Wonder why he's mad all of a sudden when sessions recused himself months ago?
I know the Dems are trying to work out a way so that this can't happen. Also Grassley sent out a tweet saying the judiciary committee would NOT be looking at a new AG this year, so some of the GOP may stand behind sessions.
Recess appointments can only be made when senate goes on legitimate break.
There is no legal requirement that they do so, and if anyone recalls to keep Obama from making such appointments the senate under GOP control never fully recessed.
Furthermore Obama did try to make some recess appointments that were suspect, only to have them shot down by the courts IIRC.
DT and his so called political advisors are idiots, and small time thugs trying to run with the Big Dogs. There are senators who have been at this long enough to run political rings around the WH.

"They say" he's been angry since it happened...hasn't moved past it one bit.
Sessions caved without a fight like the rest of the GOP do. Pathetic bunch of spoons.
Yep, I would have fired Sessions the second that I found out that Jeff took that loaded gun and handed it to Trump's opponents to take pot shots at him for the next 7.5 years.
President Trump wonders why Sessions recused himself when Mueller is not. Mueller is best friends with Comey, you know the guy who set this investigation up ... The FBI is looking like the DEEP STATE SWAMP .
Now Loretta Lynch did not recuse herself from the investigation on Hillary who when under investigation, deleted, bleachbit 33k e-mails and smashing phones with hammers even though Bill Clinton appointed her to a high position years ago. Talk about corrupt actions.
Now Sessions removed himself so Comey can have his best friend Mueller do the witch hunt on Trump... this is attacking the presidency. How low is the democratic party to do this.. really low. They are so corrupt on the other side with collusion of Hillary with CNN, destroying evidence .
The FBI and the liberal trash called MSM is looking daily for dirt on Trump, meanwhile there is a huge dirt pile all around the DNC.. We The People are not dumb.
I have everyone talking to me about what is going on.. so many Trump supporters out here I know that there will be a landslide in 2020. If not for illegals voting in heavily illegal populated states, Trump would have cremated Hillary instead of burned to toast.
