"Pitch in" should be voluntary. I am all for a voluntary "pitch in" system, and all those who have pitched in receive benefits. If they so inclined, they can extend the benefits to others who haven't pitched in. No problem at all - I would even personally pitch in voluntarily.
If you want to force people to "pitch in" at gunpoint, I'd suggest everybody should pay the same amount. Why should millions pay nothing and enjoy virtually all the benefit while others have to work and pay? In which way that is moral, just and fair?
If you made everyone "pay the same amount" then 50% of this country would have to pay every single dollar they make. Don't be dense
Socialism and the capitalism practiced in the United States are both bad.
I understand that a lot of young Americans, and some old ones, agree with you. But a lot of us who have lived overseas under socialism cannot. You have to live under a communist/socialist system to understand what I am trying to tell you, and that's not possible if you have lived in the US since childhood.

Where did you live? There have been very few socialist countries to begin with. And frankly, most of them were not bad because of socialism, but because they had oppressive, aggressive regimes, which lead to isolation.

If you read the history of Cuba and Fidel speeches, you will realize that it is a socialist-communist regime. There may be a few differences from a totally socialist society and communist one, but are in fact interchangeable ideas.
Well, when you earned a certain sum while residing in that country, their tax and other laws apply to you. So if you don't pay what is due, you are effectively stealing from the country.
You might not see it that way, but the purpose of society and government is not to enable you to pile up as much money as possible. Your mere existence only makes sense within the framework of society.
I never said not comply to the law.
I merely said the income tax law is nothing but forcing some people to give up their property to pay for others, aka income redistribution, which is immoral, unjust and unfair.
