It isn't fatalistic, it's evolution, which is a gradual process that happens over a period of time. Just saying ...

Nonsense, as usual. You are addressing liberals so:

Liberal here, my ancestors were here in 1620 and a lot more came around 1636 and some as late as 1700. MANY Revolutionary War veterans. I don't want any founding fathers out of the history books and the rest of what you said is more nonsense. I'd be very surprised if you ever come out with anything that is true or makes sense.

Okay, you people need to read the USCIS site. That's Immigration in case you don't know. It's not cheap and it is not easy. It IS already MERIT BASED with a few exceptions--one of which I used was the marriage visa and the man I bought into the country is ENGLISH=speaks ENGLISH. Got it? It cost a LOT OF MONEY, paid to THE US GOVERNMENT and there were BACKGROUND CHECKS and MEDICAL CHECKS. There is no Democratic hysteria. So now they are going to prevent us from marrying someone from another country? Great. I'm glad my husband got in before they passed this stupid law.

Look at their recent hysteria just over the debate on merit-based immigration.
And Republicans want to keep flooding our country with illegal immigrants in order to maintain a steady flow of cheap labor.

Not all Americans are white.

Quite funny.Who in washington is wise enough to determine who is worthy in a "merit based system"?
And can some point out the applicable part of the constitution which gives the fed guv the authority to run an immigration scheme

Want to make America smart again?

Stop pushing 1 hour of homework per each class.
Stop teaching them to pass a test. You're only encouraging a regurgitation of information. Retention of what was taught.
Stop the standardised testing.

Everything I hated about school essentially. Somehow they made it happen in Finland and it worked...

Haha who used to have to do "book reports"? I did. I never read a single one. Summary on the back, skim a few chapters, and wham! B/B+
Homework questions based on reading, easy. Look at the questions, the answer usually was given in the question... In chapter ____ describe what the protagonist goes through well that was easy. Skim. Find it. Summarize what happened and give my point of view or regurgitate what was in the chapter.
Want an essay 3 pages long double spaced. I might get a solid 2 pages. Change the font size by .5 change the spacing a bit use big words and have a 3 page report.
50 questions of math per chapter, and 3 chapters of reading? How about I'll do 10 per chapter that are worth the most points and get a C.
US history? Breeze. Skip doing homework in history and economics class since homework was only 15% of the grade, turn on the history channel you know, when it actually used to have history not pawn brokers or junk dealers, read books on wars, hang out with old folks listen to them reminisce... get As on essays and tests. Could sleep through the class and did... one upped the history teacher in 10th grade
Health. That was easy. Mom's a nurse. Ask her questions.
Spanish, easy. Had friends who spoke fluent Spanish that was another easy A.

The only classes I actually applied myself in were phys ed, smoked every fitness test, shop classes, instead of art, I took something useful, DDP, Auto Cad, and architecture, I could only draw cars trucks and bikes. (Ask me to paint you a picture. Pfft. I'll go Bob Ross and paint you a happy little rock) and the intro to business management and accounting.

There's a system to everything and I always try to figure it out. Work smarter not harder. Why waste my time after school to do homework when I can be out making money? And still pass get decent grades? Quality over quantity every time. Worked for me. College was awesome. Homework wasn't even a thing.
Why do all of that work for nothing? Time has value. I'm not wasting it on homework.

If you can't teach me what you say I need to know in 1 hour, you're doing it wrong.

I'm no fan of this weasel, but it's true.

Governed by the people. They didn't want to replace British tyranny with our own tyranny. No wonder you get so much wrong, you don't understand the basis for our founding.

At least you didn't link to something silly.

What I didn't get wrong was misunderstanding basics and labeling our government "tyranny."

What's so amusing in this forum is how overprivileged guys enjoying all the advantages of living in the USA feel compelled to whimper and whine about "how tough they've got it."

You want silly? Sovereign citizens...

MASA!

This must become our national priority.

Actual smart people know that, while you can educate people, you can't really make them much smarter.
