He reminds me of Theodore Roosevelt, Herbert Hoover, and Richard Nixon. What is remarkable about all of these guys is that they never got (in regards to the first two) and never finished (in regards to Nixon) their second term.

(Actually, Trump seems mostly a hybrid of Richard Nixon and Theodore Roosevelt, it's only his trade and other similar policies that are similar to Herbert Hoover.)

Theodore Roosevelt basically did run third party within his own party (much like Trump). He was a nationalist populist too. And he actually tried to run third party for his second term, got more votes than the Republican Party, but ended up splitting the vote allowing Woodrow Wilson to win.

I think Nixon was also a nationalist that the Left was out to get and eventually they did with Watergate. The Left seems to be trying for Watergate 2.0. with President Trump.

As for Hoover, if Trump enacts his trade policies, we could end up hurting the economy and if things go really south in the economy after that, we could get another Great Recession or worse.

When we start getting to Smoot Hawley levels, we can talk.... He has a very long way to go, before he is there.

Trump won't even make it out of the Republican primaries.

If he's not forced out of office or the "I" word before then.

I can see comparing Trump to Nixon, I wouldn't turn my back to either of them.

Let's just get through these next three and a half years. Enjoy them and be glad with what we have. America is going to get better, but we've obviously got to clear some hurdles. Trump is going to be fine, so don't let the left-wing propagandists and the deep state try to dampen your spirits. They won't succeed.

I seriously doubt he will be in the WH for a second term.

But, I also didn't think he'd win a first.

It's way too early to worry about that. Patience, grasshopper.

I'm worried Trump won't get a second term.

I’m worried that he’ll only get 6 to 10 years for all he’s done so far, more if they find out other things.

Don't be worried Trump probably won't have a second term be happy. Hopefully he's impeached during this term...
