I don't know but Hillary spent an awful lot in a losing effort.

The Democratic Party’s Looming Fundraising Crisis - POLITICO Magazine

Over the first six months of 2017, the Republican National Committee pulled in $75 million—nearly twice as much money as the Democratic National Committee, which raised $38 million. The predicament isn’t simply that there is a funding gap between the parties; it’s what kind of money they attract. Republicans have quietly taken a decisive edge over Democrats when it comes to small-dollar fundraising.

Sanders raked in a bunch of money from individuals. I've also noted for years that individuals vote, corporations do not. Those who voted with their pockets for Sanders are not going to give money to Perez and his corporate candidates.

They can no longer rely on the Clinton Foundation and the Rich & Wealthy, see Socialism as a lost cause to their profits.

They spent over 2.3 Billion combined, on Hillary.... and lost badly.

The RNC spent very little on Trump, because they thought he had no chance, and spent it all on congressional seats.

The Democrats have shifted their fundraising efforts away from the ways they were done last year.

Some state parties are doing very well, while others aren't. And right now, all the funds are no longer going to the DNC, to be distributed from the top down. The funds are mostly staying at the state and local level, as the Democrats are intent on rebuilding their base.

There's not a lot of difference between the present Democratic party's fundraising problems from the very same problems the Republicans had after 2006. The RNC was strapped for cash after 2006, but state Republican parties reached down to their base for support, just as the Dems are doing now.

That's the way it cycles. A stinging defeat always shakes things up, so there are always moments of financial desperation while things are being re-organized, but defeat is always a real good motivator once the reorganization is underway.

There has not been a "stinging" loss, since Dewey lost to Truman.
