In the latest absurdity .

How embarrassing really .

At the University of Southern California, a student group has declared the equine mascot of the school’s Trojans football team to be a symbol of “white supremacy.”

Why? Because the horse bears a name similar to that of a steed that belonged to Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee.

The USC football horse is called Traveler (one L), while Lee’s horse was known as Traveller (two L’s).

“White supremacy hits close to home,” Saphia Jackson, co-director of the USC Black Student Assembly, told fellow students, in pointing out the similarity in the horses’ names, student newspaper the Daily Trojan reported.

I can't believe FOX News would even consider this story newsworthy. Anything they can do to keep their consumers in a constant state of agitation. I guess they took a break from running interference for the President's daily miscues.

Well, we finally got to the bottom of why the area surrounding campus has been one of the worst Black ghettos in America over the past 50+ years:

The locals were oppressed by the name of a horse.

It's newsworthy for the reason that it shows too many people don't know where to stop with the nonsense. Do we really want these people making choices for us? Even if you think removing confederate statues is a good idea (and I'd say there are valid arguments for both sides of this debate), average Americans need to put a stop to the very, very questionable ideas that have arisen in the wake of the statue debate.

"The widow also noted that the spelling of the name is different -- and when her husband bought the horse in 1958, the name had already been picked."

You know, that horse is long dead now. When you replace a quarterback you don't rename him after the old one.

normally I'd dismiss this as nonsense, but in today's world, whatever will annoy the deplorables...have at it
