Economic growth under Obama was virtually anemic. The only people who did remarkably well were the already rich/Wallstreet types, and the banksters who received bailouts. For mainstreet, it was misery. I don't blame Obama, as much as I blame the infighting that he encouraged. Attacking and belittling business owners was absolutely wrong. People must create wealth in order for this nation to experience prosperity. The government was never, and never will be the source of wealth, nor will they ever figure out how to fairly distribute the gains of capitalism. Government should stick to it's role of protecting Americans from threats here, and abroad.
The division and infighting is killing America and it's productive potential. It's warping the minds of young people, and encouraging a rise in hatred. This will hurt Americas ability to compete abroad, especially when people work against one another, instead of with one another. More than 6 months into Trumps presidency, I don't see the changes I was hoping for, although there are some positive signs. We have some solid job creation numbers, but wages aren't improving, and the jobs created are still not the kind that will usher in an era of general prosperity. Wallstreet is doing better, but workplace moral, productivity, etc is still in the dumps. America must improve, if we all want to experience prosperity.
