So what? Jefferson and Washington didn't wage a war in a last ditch attempt to keep slavery. They understood that slavery would be a dividing issue for the USA, and it would eventually have to go away.

That's what zealotry and fascism bears. There is never enough, and once people get behind one ridiculous ideological meme, they start rolling in like snowballs.
Started out just removing state flags, then statues of confederates, now all traces of the founding fathers... then, they will be free to usher in communism, Marxism, and any flavor of human suppression without a Constitution to stop them. THAT IS what the the end game is. Once the Constitution is gone, we are doomed.
Once the people allow these wackamoles to take power... you'll start seeing monuments to the most absurd things. If a person so much as looks at them wrong, or has the audacity to complain... good luck in the work camps.
It's only time before some of the protesters get a hold of a couple dozen rocket launchers and remove the bas-reliefs on Stone Mountain.
Somewhat like the Italians defaced the Sphinx during World War II, by using it for machine-gun practice. And most people thought it was just age, that made its features crumble.
There's a reason Stone Mountain is not better known. It manages to be equally garish and boring.

This^^. It's a slippery slope and if you think things are ugly now - well, fascism shows no tolerance and wants to silence all who disagree. This is still a free county. For now.
I support the elimination of all statues and carvings of Democrats.
Sounds good to me considering every confederate was a Democrat, as were the Racist Woodrow Wilson and FDR. The Hypocrisy of these Progressive Democrat Heros is dumbfounding.
