Let's be honest here. The Left (Liberal/Progressives/Democrats, etc) want to eventually nullify the Constitution. It is an obstacle to the Progressive Utopia (Fascist controlling state) that they have been creating. Trump was another obstacle, so he must be removed as a Russian collaborator. Oh wait, no, that didn't work. Ok, Trump's a racist! That's it!
So, the Founding Fathers, and the American Flag is next, followed by elements of the Constitution that are Racist, Sexist, Homophobic, Islamophobic, etc, like Free Speech which allows 'HATE SPEECH".
Because after the Civil War their priority was to kill/displace native Americans off the land to make it safe for white, Christian settlers. Seems pretty offensive to me.
ALL these monuments to pure EVIL need to be taken down. Why should we want to celebrate a region of the Country and or their leaders, that sought to ruthlessly enslave good people against their will, lynch men women and children on a whim, and sadistically rape helpless women, just because they could?
So how does this inhumane behavior justify monuments and statues? Please explain.

Actually go read your history book and report back.....
You are looking at one part of the overall issues that were had. How does removing the monuments and statues change what happened?
In those times, what happened was considered a way of life.... it was not good nor evil. It was what was considered normal at the time. Since we have the capability of hindsight, we can now see the horribleness of slavery. That doesn't mean that those people weren't fighting for what they believe was good at the time. These monuments serve as a reminder to what our country went through to get where we are today.
