(CNN)In "The Art of War," Sun Tzu notes that "the whole secret lies in confusing the enemy, so that he cannot fathom our real intent." The Democrats are developing this logic in an obscene and seductive way, using the world's media to cultivate its barbaric image and recruit new members.
The austerely beautiful ruins of the Robert E Lee statue are among the latest victims of staged cultural desecration, and bodies like American patriots have reacted as the Democrats hoped, by denouncing this as a crime. The Democrats get publicity, attention, vilification. The world's media react and we supply the Democrats their recruiting fuel and offer free advertising of more illicit antiquities soon to be on sale on the black market.
People should note that the linked CNN story is about ISIS destroying cultural artifacts in the territory they controlled.
So far as I know, the statute of Robert E. Lee (erected in 1924) in that Virginia town is still up and has not been destroyed.
As I have maintained before, bring down a statute is not akin to destroying or erasing history. One does not learn history from viewing a statute of a general on a horse. There are 60,000+ (estimated) books on the Civil War that one may read. We have some 40 Civil War battlefields maintained by the National Park Service (although Trump was to cut their budget by 12 percent), at which you may view statutes and monuments at your leisure, placed where certain events happened (for instance, at Gettysburg, they have a statute of Lee on his horse, Traveler, at the site of his headquarters).
If one believes that one may learn much in the way of 'history' by viewing confederate statutes in public parks, then one should reassess their grasp of history.
