Pence is smart enough to know what the American people want to see in a President. He is also smart enough not to look like a lunatic everyday.
Pence would be better on the international stage as will not break with our traditional allies. He will give them a sense of normalcy.
On the domestic side, Pence will push this country further right than it has ever been before. He is a radical social conservative and I would expect him to act as Brownback in Kansas. Pence knows the system and how to use it.
I would not expect him to grow in office and reach out to both sides. But neither will he cater to the dark forces of white nationalism.
I would expect Pence to be a more calming influence though.
Mike Pence isn't a demagogue. I get the impression that if Pence made an error, he'd own up to it.
So yeah.
I'd say I probably have more policy disagreements with Pence that I do Trump, but I also feel that Pence respects the institutions in place, which is more important in the grand scheme of things.

I totally agree, and like you, I probably agree more with Trump's policy positions than I would with Pence, but this daily chaos from the Trump Administration is corrosive to the integrity of this country. Trump's mental and emotional stability is often questionable, and I don't feel comfortable with Trump at the helm. He should go back to just being a cad, which is what he's been for his entire life.
