The alt-left are hell bent on trying uproot the entire system/values that created the worlds greatest super power. Once they ruin everything they will blame white people and capitalism. Sick individuals.

When will the removed statues be replaced with the illuminatus illuminati?

It's an aluminati take over.

Barium with aluminum.

The brain solder is splashing everywhere!

Just put the eye of the pyramid everywhere.

Never mind, it's there.

I keep my mind off most of the time.

I carry a sawed off 2x4 in my pants for the potential occurrence of someone in a "friendly" tone asking me, "What's on your mind?"

FKN-A, man!

Black slavery is a tougher question - Black slaves were the favored option partially because they were easy to distinguish from the Native Peoples & the Europeans.

In the long run, we have to do better by all the children of the US, whatever their national & religious & ethnic & racial & on & on origins. Those factors are not as important as securing the common future of the country - by preparing the children for the future as best we can, by providing the best education we can, & trusting to that education & the values ingrained in being a US citizen to see them through.

Otherwise, we're just rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic.
Do you consider the present educational system as doing a good job of this "best educating" of the children? Because I see the educational institutions of the day teaching a view point of US ugh - all else good. Go Karl Marx . I grew up in the 50's and was not taught in a southern school to hate any race nor was history white washed or black washed or any washed. I learned to love my country - I thrived on biographies of people with the orange covers and blue covers in the library. I learned from Disney clips like Swamp Fox, Davy Crockett and so many more about bravery and heroism; about honor and dishonor.

Yes it was biased but not criminally so. It certainly never taught me that slavery was good but it taught me that our country had a major civil war over the issue of slavery, state's rights and many other things and that in spite of that war, we came together as a young nation even then and continued on. That we righted a wrong, not perfectly but a step that over time would get better. Racism will always exist but the democrats and social justice crowd capitalized on racism as a money maker and a voting class and did more to harm black families now and in the future that even slavery or Jim Crow could have done. Keep in mind that segregation /Jim Crow and the like were government ideas. The power of the greenback would have ended much discrimination because everyone likes green. Today, Al Sharpton , Jessie Jackson and Schummer and the gang make money over race by feeding the anger. Disgusting.

Hard to figure out how a little girl growing up in the 1950's and '60's in Virginia could have learned acceptance, agape love, virtue, history and all those good things if the world was just so full of hatred for any group of people. And I certainly will not endorse the educational system that exists now that preaches falsehood and anti-liberty sentiment and kowtows to every wicked idea that comes down the pike. Non indexed virtue/trans-values/lies and deceit - the flavors of the day, only to get worse with each passing year.

Wise comment after wise comment after wise comment. I would give you additional reps but City Data will only allow one to applaud so often.

You are a pleasure to read and a comfort to my heart.
Thank you.

I favor excellent education for everybody, K-12; & then more education for anyone who wants to pursue it & shows some promise. No, I'm not in PS classrooms as often as I used to be, but I never saw a slavish devotion to Marx. That's the wrong person anyway, the cult of personality attached more to Stalin & Mao, maybe Ho Chi Minh & Fidel Castro - my opinion. Communism, even the quasi-competitive corporatist version favored in China, seems to be receding in the World. Time will tell.

I think we in the US should stick to our ideological & historical & intellectual & moral guns - yah, we've made mistakes along the way. But we acknowledge them & pick ourselves up & carry on. & where are all the other governments that started out @ the same time that we did, back in the day? They either adapted or died, & most of them died. Partisan politics & parties & bickering & arguing may seem tiresome - but it beats the unity @ bayonet-point that a Nazi Germany or Fascist Italy or Imperial Japan managed - look how those turned out.

A lovely church who pursued Biblical truths found itself in a congregational debate. A Sunday School teacher (a young Marine officer married to another young Marine) started the children's program with prayer and praise as well as the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag (of the United States of America). The senior administrator of the Sunday School program was not part of that decision but didn't find anything wrong with what the teacher was doing.

After a while, a parent complained , saying that the "State" had kicked "God" out of the classroom and thus they did not want the "State" in the house of God , influencing children. Sounded logical enough but the young teacher saw the removal of the U.S. Flag and the Pledge from the children's worship area as something she could not accept and that she would resign her position if that happened.

In came the Sunday School Administrator, also an unpaid volunteer who had worked in the program as well as handled the administrative capacity. The senior volunteer said that while she had not been the one to institute the inclusion of the pledge in the children's weekly celebration, she had a problem with the removal as being but another step toward teaching the children that their country was "bad" and that supporting the United States was against God. The administrator was very upset with a great deal of the actions taken over the years by the various branches of the US but felt that Christians needed to bring the country back to God's initial blessings on this country and not just abdicate being a part of the greatest experiment in individual liberty and unalienable rights.

Long story long, the complainer prevailed. "Go along to get along" prevailed. The young marine quit her position as a teacher. The more senior administrator of the program resigned her position and withdrew from participating in the children's program. The complainer later quit going to the church and found another place to undermine and eventually, the church relocated , restructured and today, no one would likely recognize anyone from the former congregation.

So that is why the statue issue isn't just a "statue " issue. I agree with this poster's observation that it is a stupid waste of time and money but I'm not sure whether the poster thinks it's a non-issue or not. The issue, as I have said before, is ultimately to tear down the fabric of the United States. Like most of the activity on the streets is today. The Marxists / the anarchists are fighting to rip down our form of government and will use anything and everything to further chaos. The useful idiots on the street, for money or poor education in today's public primary, secondary and higher institutions of supposed learning will continue to act as fodder to take fire, produce a supposed martyr or two and further the insurrection. All of it is staged and orchestrated by the powers that be, known and unknown. Any moron that could support Bernie Sanders, an avowed Socialist for years and years , or point to the US as the arch evil, founded by evil , racist white European males is beyond stupid. They are criminally deluded . Dangerous to mankind and western civilization. They have the right to speak out but not the right to engage in violent destruction of our founding documents or personal property and human life.

The abolition of liberty is the goal. The instituting of an evil totalitarian government like what has been seen throughout history, always under Socialist and Communist governance, is the ultimate end. The means are always justified. Just ask Karl Marx. He's the poster child for all of this.
ty for your comment. the last rep mark you got for this was from me to you for the story of the church and its significance to this issue with the statues and all ...

There are people that have said they do not understand 'southern pride' in our culture, mostly because they are not aware as we are the real heroes of the south and their contributions, as in The case of Mrs. Margaret Douglass
"Although every southern state had outlawed the teaching of reading and writing to enslaved blacks (and in some cases, free blacks as well), there is considerable evidence that some whites defied the law."
__________
I guess a person would have to be an old southerner to know of people like Margaret, the true rebels of the south that defied all laws of government for the sake of humanity in the knowing, there would one day be a power higher than man, they would answer too.

Sadly without the civil war, those heroes would not exist in the true test of their fortitude in resistance to all things government ordained, that were less than humanitarian. Some paid a larger price than jail time, they paid with their life.

The people that are tearing down the statue's thinking their hurting some one in their actions, little do they know the person they are hurting, is themselves, as they are tearing away the at the very fabric of the U.S., that which made us ... us. (unique and different from the rest of the world)

You seem awfully eager for people to be shot since this is not the first time you suggested it, and I am sure it is from you comfortable couch. The recruiters office will be open in the morning, get down there and sign up first thing.

Certain types just want to destroy without making any attempt to build or create. They want to scratch at the history they don't like instead of forging a future for themselves. I don't know what causes this besides the typical mass hysteria that seems to drive all things that become THE FOCUS overnight. Whatever new thing seems to attract followers and, unfortunately, the way civil society has dealt with it up to now is by making concessions to get them to shut up. We have activists without a cause, and they are desperately looking for things to do.
