Who is surprised? Trump railed against sending troops to Afghanistan as a candidate, now it's just fine with him. Of course it's not his sons or any members of his family whatsoever.

What Trump said about Afghanistan before he became president

As a candidate and well before he ran for president, Trump criticized the conflict and pushed for it to end.

The word Trump and presidential shouldn't even be used in the same sentence. It's an oxymoron.

I can't stomach hearing the Orange Orangutan spout more lies and false promises so am passing on watching... I'll get my recap on the Daily Show or Colbert's show.

When he's pretending to sound like a president, they need to glue or tie his hands to the podium. No matter what the speechwriters write for him, you still can't take the Trumpiness out of Trump. Ugh!

He sounds good so far but the message is much the same as the previous two presidents.

I am getting a couple of new things

-No more foreign aid for Pakistan without their troops entering the Tribal Zones
-India bucking up for some of the money to prop up the Afghan govt.

It's interesting that he's addressing an all-military audience. I guess that will provide a solid basis for the "overwhelmingly positive response" that he will undoubtedly receive.

I'll bet we won't hear him say he's sending more corpses to Afghan, either.

That said, I'm not for this. Not at all. I was really hoping he would say, "Enough is enough. Come on home, boys and girls!"

So here we go, Republicans are going to try to run another war without raising taxes. You all thought Obama raised the deficit? Wait till trump runs up another 5 trillion trying to win a fight that Russia gave up on after fifteen years and then we went there to fall into the same trap for 15 years.
  • Conditions - Bush also said that - where did it get him (us)?
  • Troops levels and secret plans - just like his plans for healthcare, for defeating ISIS in 30 daya, and all the other BS. Doesn't he know that one of Nixxon's big mistakes was trying to run a secret war?
  • Pakistan - he is going to try to pay them off or threaten them. I wonder if he plans to remove all Pakistani citizens - here in America - or throw them into camps?
  • War criminals. We are about to go back down that row again.
  • And finally, more brag BS.
  • So, we are going to give the Afghanis more weapons and years of training so they can get on the first battlefield and turn over their weapons?
  • North Korea? Nothing?
I feel sorry for people in the military, all that "We appreciate your service BS is meaningless if we are going to go back to abusing the soldiers.
Hey, that's obama's 'good war'.
