The flags have been up for over a year according to neighbors and now all of a sudden everyone is offended. Lol. More fake left wing hysteria.

Although I don't like with the flag stands for, that man has every right to put a flag in the window if he likes UNLESS he's violating the lease rules.

If he's forced to take it down he may have a strong case for a lawsuit.

He should take them down, but he shouldn't be forced by the government to take them down.

If he is renting, his landlord can make him take them down. Free speech doesn't extend to private property owned by someone else.

Free speech seems to be under attack everywhere.

You would LOSE a legal case with your argument.

I suppose it depends. We had a commercial building landlord put Trump signs on his building, and business tenants were not pleased and said it affected their business. I'm not sure what would happen if the tenants had placed anti-trump signs in their windows. Probably nothing.

In the state of New York, displaying signs (or flags, lights, decorations, et al) on a rented property can be prohibited by the landlord. There is no constitutional right to free speech if the landlord says no.

Wrong. Not free speech. Landlords can absolutely regulate outside additions, such as flags.

If this guy is in a NYC building, he has no right to do such a thing, unless the landlord or co-op/condo board agree (which is EXTREMELY unlikely in Trump-hating, Nazi-hating NYC).

Also, in the East Village? Did even one person in the East Village vote for Trump?

I'm not sure if you could find a more anti-Trump neighborhood anywhere in the U.S. He might as well put up a Nazi flag in Jerusalem.
