China's tech is comparable to ours and they have way, way, more industrial capacity. They also have more troops. Plus NK, which has an entire population of militarized citizens. Yes we have lots of toys, missiles, and bombs, but those things are limited in number and potential.
The goal of an Asian war would be to push the enemy back to their borders and reduce their offensive capability. Easier for us to do that than it is for them to try to project their forces toward us. Their air and naval capability is very limited and far more dated than ours. As far as a militarized population, as the Korean and Viet Nam wars demonstrated, the population follows whoever is holding the gun to their head.
Do you know what the Smith Mundt Act is /was? It was repealed under Obama, giving the media free reign to for lack of a better word to flat out lie.
For months we heard how N. Korea was going to launch missiles reaching the West Coast, than it was changed to just be able to reach Guam.

The Act itself wasn't repealed. They repealed "domestic prohibition, allowing the government's broadcasting to be directed at/created for Americans for the first time in over 40 years."
Economically Japan, South Korea, and the United States must reconsider what the real cost of this wholesale reliance on China as a source of our manufactured goods. Most of them are of poor quality anyway.
The big box stores are crammed with Chinese made products and their parking lots are full of Americans who are eager to buy those products. Until that changes China owns us.
One thing is for sure, all high school graduating males should have to go to the service for 2 years before starting college to be ready mentally and physically if we need them. This is not our choice, it is being forced on us.
