Doesn't Israel already have an Iron Dome system? Granted it's not designed for ICBM's but if it works even half as well as advertised, an credible ABM defense should be possible in principle. At any rate, I heard, but can't vouch, that ABMs have a kill rate of 50%. If that's taken at even half face value, you'd only need to launch about four ABMs at an ICBM to knock it out.
The recent inability of two destroyers to notice two slow moving freighters until after they crashed into them leads me to believe naval commanders would fail to notice a missle unless it landed directly on deck.
I wonder if our Navy's inability to notice these slow freighters has to do with sailors chasing the women on board!
Seriously, though, are our systems being hacked, have the North Koreans developed a way to block or duplicate radar so that a Navy ship is blind to an approaching freighter? Are these Navy ships empty of all crew in friendly ports, and maybe that has to change? Are the automatic navigation systems of civilian ships being hacked to divert them towards a Navy ship?
Why Can't We Just Blast Every Missile Kim Launches?
It seems like all the US and the UN can do is wring their hands about Kim. I've never heard this solution proposed: why don't we just shoot them out of the air 5 minutes after they've left the launch pad? That way not a single nuclear-tipped missile can ever reach a US possession.

Kim would claim it's an act of war. To avoid that, the missiles should only be brought down if it appears they might strike land.
