Christians deserve the criticism. They are still supporting a scumbag like Trump even after he offered his support to Neo Nazis, the KKK and white supremacists. They are applauding Trump's decision to punish innocent children that have done no harm merely because they have the wrong skin color and ethnic background to be acceptable to Trump's base of white nationalists.
Christians are showing more allegiance to Trump and the white nationalist GOP than their own Messiah and the words from the Bible. The evangelical support for Trump has shown Christians and Christianity to be a hypocritical farce.
Never heard of the guy so don't know if his opinion means anything, but I clicked on the link. He slammed Christians who support Trump's ending DACA, refused to apologize but later deleted the tweet.

Also, fundamentalist Christians should expect backlash against them from the LGBT community. Christians consider LGBT people filthy abominations who aren't even fit to live. Christians kick their own children to the curb when they come out as gay, throw huge tantrums when celebrities come out, lament the end of America any time a pro-gay ordinance is passed no matter how significant, and blame natural disasters and terrorist attacks on God's anger towards the LGBT community. Why should any self-respecting gay person have any respect for that ideology?
With that said, most gay people aren't trying to make Christianity illegal. The same cannot be said for Christians trying to make everything they consider "sin" illegal even if it isn't hurting anybody.
