Sheriff Grady has a fixation for fighting sex, he once arrested a married couple for making home videos and putting them online he used a SWAT team to raid their home and tried to put them in prison for years.
He also runs constant prostitution stings and calls it "fighting human trafficking".

I don't live in Polk county and I don't feel threatened by anyone................... But like everywhere else the people who do live there elect officials who represent their views/values and address their concerns. The guy is well liked in most of Florida. I get that he might not enjoy the same popularity somewhere else.
We once took the "scenic route" according to my husband from a weekend in St. Augustine back home to Naples driving through Polk County. Once you get out of the major cities and towns, it gets extremely rural.
We stopped to get gas and bathroom stop in the middle of nowhere. Looking at the men sitting outside I did not want to get out of the car, even though the same (white) race as them and with Florida Plates. Who are you? You are an outsider. Could not wait to get out of there. We got stared at up and down. Forget that scenic route.
That some sheriff there is threatening jail doesn't surprise me at all; zero warrants notwithstanding.
