Just an honest question really. I have found over the years that if I really think about a lot of the issues that face us in America, I never really fall into any one group. I just don't completely tow any party lines. On some issues, I lean conservative. On others, I lean slightly liberal. And then there are those issues out there where I am straight up Libertarian! So I was curious how many of you out there actually feel you are pretty much 100% down with what your party represents.

I think both parties have become extremists, especially the republicans. I want the moderates back in both parties who negotiated to benefit us all. This is why we have such gridlock in congress now. No one is willing to budge which hurts us all. If we continue to vote for extremists then we are all screwed. As a democrat I voted for a republican governor because he was a moderate and he worked for it. The dem running against thought he had it in the bag because we are a blue state. He did nothing to deserve it though. And I will vote for the governor again.

While I guess I am basically a Democrat, I tend to vote for the person, not the party. If there is a Republican who I think is better, they get my vote.

I hate both major political parties as both have sold us out for a while. As a constitutional conservative who cares deeply about who sits on our federal courts, however, I have been voting for the GOP since able to vote. While there are a few other reasons why I vote GOP (including taxes, 2nd amendment issues and education reform), this is the big one for me.

I vote for ideas instead of a party. Mostly I'm probably a Democrat but they've gone too far to the left. But the Republican party must have been hijacked by the Tea Party because they have gone whacko crazy.

I'm 100% for national health insurance and 100% against illegal immigration. But I do want LEGAL immigrants. Not too sure what to do about Muslims who might become radicalized...some are very nice people so how do we know what to do? Pro abortion in early stages, against churches becoming involved in politics. Pro gay, do not care about transgender.

I'm for honesty and whatever is best for the American people no matter what party. Socially liberal for the most part, fiscally conservative.

I'm a registered Republican, who votes Democratic at times, but deep inside, I'm really a Libertarian.

I think both parties have become extremists, especially the left.

both parties have moved to so much extremism, the democrats USED to be just left of center, now the standard democrat is gone, and you have the extremes.. left but only a little fascists....., a little further to the left, democratic-socialists.... even father to the left full blown socialists...and even more extreme that want communism.

then on the right, you have the moderate republicans which are a dying breed, ...further to the right conservatives...then you have the nutty religious-right....then you also have the neo-cons, which are a mixture of liberals and conservatives, a real nutty combo

I want both parties to be open to negotiate for the benefit us all.

as to me...raised republican, but more of a conservative... believe in low taxes, small government, secure borders, and a strong military....but also have a mixture of some more things in me...I support legalizing hemp, I support gays or gay marriage, I have no issue with abortion (don't think it should be the first choice as a contraceptive, or should be paid for with taxpayer money)...I actually think the 'fairtax' a consumption tax would be a better replacement for the incometax......

Im an ex Dem(1990s) and my views almost mirror yours, but I can not bring myself to vote Democrat again, Nationally. Too many invasions of other countries under Obama, and the Demonization of law enforcement was disheartening.

I believe in maximum individual freedom and maximum personal responsibility. I try to apply that concept to all issues.

Sometimes I fall to the Right, and other times I fall to the Left.
